Jocelyn Mary Biggin
April 17, 1944 - September 2, 2025

It is with great sorrow and profound loss that the Biggin family announce the sudden passing of Jocelyn Mary Biggin ( nee Payne) at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on September 2, 2025, after a short illness. Jocelyn was 81 years old and resided with her husband Howard Derek Biggin in Pasadena NL. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose quiet strength and kindness touched all who knew her. She was loved beyond measure. Jocelyn was born in Daniels Harbour on April 17, 1944 to Gorman and Elsie Payne. She was the first of 9 children blessed to her parents. Jocelyn spent her early years living in Daniels Harbour where she would meet the love of her life, Howard Derek Biggin. They would marry and later return to their hometown to raise their children Suzanne, Deborah, William, and Samantha. They built a wonderful life there and would later settle in Pasadena NL.

Jocelyn devoted her life to her family, her faith and her friends. She spent many years quietly volunteering for many charitable endeavours within her community and Church. The Holy Cross Church Choir, ACW, Anglican Western Synod, Saint David’s Church and it’s Knitting Group and the Pasadena Seniors Club to name a few. She gave selfishly of her time when she could.  Jocelyn had many passions in her life. She loved to knit, do crosswords, quilt and cook but was never happier when she was outdoors up the pond in the cabin she built with Derek and later the cabin they built in Bills Woods.  They made the best team together; She was his Angel.

Jocelyn was predeceased by her parents, Gorman and Elsie; parents in-law Howard and Hepsey Biggin; brother Trevor Payne (Olga) and brother in-law Bryant Payne (Elizabeth)
