Obituary of Florella Churchill

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Florella Churchill announce her passing on September 4^th at the LTC on University Drive. She leaves to mourn with many wonderful memories her daughters Sandra (Calvin) and Shirley, grandchildren - Michael (Nicole), Alison (Wayne), Patricia (Andrew), Michelle (Corey), Sean (Sarah), great-grandchildren - Faith, Violet, Russell, Dallas, Hannah and Gwen, brother Roy (Lillian) Bannister and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

Florella was pre-deceased by husband Henry (2006), son Eddie (2012), parents Gilbert and Bessie Holmes, brothers Lloyd, Graham and Edwin, sisters Jean, Cavell and Ruby, father-in-law and mother-in-law Henry and Rhoda Churchill and brother-in-law and sister-in-law William and Alva Churchill.

Mom was a great cook and baker, no one left the table hungry. She loved to knit, especially baby clothes. We were kept outfitted with sweaters, caps and mitts during the winter. She loved her flower garden and kept everything weeded and well looked after.

The family would like to thank the staff at Westmount Estates, where mom resided for 5 years, for their wonderful care during her time there. A special thank you to the staff on 4^th Floor South (Partridgeberry Unit) for the exceptional care provided to mom during her 7 months there. Thank you to Rev. John van Vliet for his visits to mom which she enjoyed and appreciated and for his support during this difficult time.

As per mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 8^th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Marks Ave.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the Chapel at Fillatre's Funeral Home with Rev. John van Vliet officiating, followed by Inurnment at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

No flowers by request, donations in her memory can be made to Corner Brook United Church, Park Street or to a charity of ones choice.
