Dominic (Dom) Fredrick Park

September 1, 1954 – September 6, 2025

Curling, NL

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Park family announce the passing of Dominic (Dom) Fredrick Park on September 6, 2025, at the Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 71.

Born in Corner Brook to James Sr (Jim) and Mary Park, Dom was the first of five children, raised on Dunbar Ave, where he spent his entire life. Known for his wit, kindness, and friendly manner, he enjoyed watching hockey and old movies. He found comfort in his cozy little house near the home where he grew up, surrounded by his siblings and neighbourhood friends.

His love for his family was quiet yet profound. He cherished the moments with his daughter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loved ones.

Dom will be deeply missed by his beloved daughter, Paula, whom he loved beyond measure; his treasured grandchildren, Ian (Kat), Ashley, Justin, and Rebecca; and his precious great-grandchildren, Hailey, Violet, Ellie, Sophie, Cole, Tobie, and Hudson.

His brothers and sisters: James Jr (Kymil), Mary Ann (Terry), Christina (Jim), and Brian (Geniene), nieces and nephews; Nicole (Jason), Jimmy (Corina), Samantha (Jamie), Jennifer (Aaron), Emily, and Olivia, along with great-nieces and nephews Abigail, Parker, Warren, Remy, and Logan.

He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Dom is predeceased by his parents, James Sr. and Mary Alice Park.

Though Dom is no longer with us in body, his spirit remains in the love and memories he left behind. Rest in eternal peace; you will be forever missed and always loved.

His favourite band was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and as they sing in ‘Another Sun,’

"Let me die, so when it’s time to live, another sun will rise."

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit.

In keeping with Dom’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10th  from 7-9 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Corner Brook.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11th at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Parish in Curling, with Father Lee Lainey officiating and Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Sacred Heart Parish.
