Obituary of Abraham Blake

Abraham Blake
August 6,1941- September 6, 2025

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Abraham Blake announce his passing on September 6th, 2025 at the Palliative Care Unit at WMRH at the age of 84 years.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Kay of 60 years; daughter Michelle Hickey (Michael); beloved grandsons, Matthew and Nathan Hickey; sister Rosemary Keeping; sisters-in-law, Norma Blake, Heather Sirman (Brian), Shelley Monan, and Debbie Monan; brother-in-law David Monan (Theresa); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Abraham was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Blake; his father and mother in law, Thomas and Joan Monan; sister, Hannah Jane McDonald; brother George Blake; brothers-in-law, Fred Keeping, Henry McDonald, Victor Monan, and Charlie Corbett; sisters-in-law, Jane Crawley and Christine Corbett.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr Callahan, and all the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit. Your kindness, compassion and empathy was truly appreciated.

At his request cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday, September 9th at 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held on Wednesday September 10th at All Hallows Church, 109 Humber Road at 10:00 am. Inurnment to follow at a later date.
