The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love and support we have received during this challenging time. The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kristy Thompkins and all the doctors, nurses and staff of 4 North A. Your kindness, care and compassion were truly appreciated.

The family of the late Maurice Downey would like to express our thanks and appreciation to everyone for the phone calls, messages, cards, donations and visits to the funeral home.
Friday, September 5th ,2025 was the best day ever according to Maurice. He asked for Pepsi and enjoyed drinking it. He was so happy that his grandson Calvin and family were there, his niece Leslie, family and friends who visited and calls from his sister and brothers.
Thank you to Dr. Thompkins for all your care since 2018 when this road started. To nurse Brenda who was with us during that evening and night and to the staff of North A for the amazing care Maurice received during his time in the hospital.
A sincere thank you to Ernie Fillatre (whom Maurice told me to call, as he would take care of everything) and his staff at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing and to Barrett’s Funeral Home, St. John’s for their guidance and compassion.
