Michael John Tucker
October 3, 1944 – September 16, 2025
Burgeo, NL
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael John Tucker, aged 80, on September 16, 2025 at the Calder Health Care Center in Burgeo, NL after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 3, 1944 in Bude, Cornwall, England to the late Terry and Louise Tucker, Michael later moved to Canada with his family.
Michael leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years, Mildred, his two sons, Steven (Janet) and Tony (Bonita), as well as his grandchildren, Jeanette (Mike), Nicholas, Anthony (Megan), Andrew (Brianna) and April and his great granddaughters, Harper and Grace. He also leaves his brothers, Tony (Janet), David (Angela), Paul (Cindy) and his sister Ann, brother-in-law George (Colette) and sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Doug), Barb (Russell) and Christina (Richard).
Michael moved to Montreal from England when he was a teenager. He served in the Navy and while in Halifax he met and was 'thunderstruck' by Mildred. They married on Valentine's Day in 1965 and later settled in Burgeo, NL and raised their family there.
Michael was skilled in many things. Throughout his life he was a carpenter, machinist, furniture maker, greensman, painter, carver, cook and so much more. He will forever be remembered by his family for his quick wit, sense of humor and for those delicious eggrolls at Christmas time.
He will be greatly missed by all who truly knew him.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the CHCC for taking such good care of Michael during his final days.
