Obituary of Maureen Bennett
Please share a memory of Maureen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maureen Sheila Provan Bennett, known lovingly to most as Mo, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, surrounded by her close family. She was 73 years old.
Born on August 14, 1952, in Corner Brook, Maureen was the daughter of the late Wilfred (Bill) and Mary Hann. She is deeply missed and remembered forever by her sons Steven and daughter-in-law, Paula Anderson, Marc and daughter-in-law, Tristan Katz, Weston and daughter-in-law Tiffany Dawson, and Coady Bennett; her eight beautiful grandchildren; her brothers Don and Allen Hann; and her sisters Mairi Crocker and Moira Moore.
She will be remembered for her strength, sense of humour, selflessness, the unconditional love she gave so freely, and the countless ways she made life brighter for everyone around her.
Above all, Mo cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She loved crafting, spending time with her grandchildren, and was a mother figure to many of her sons’ friends over the years. She had a gift for laughter and a spirit that drew people together.
On the day of her passing, a rainbow appeared after the rain, symbolizing her peaceful soul being welcomed to the other side.
At Mo’s request, there will not be a funeral. We invite everyone to write a note or memory of Mo and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Operation Smile Canada charity.
Her memory will be forever carried in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
