Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Ann Robertson of Steady Brook, NL on September 21st 2025. Mary leaves to mourn; her husband Danny Robertson, children; Diana Douglas (Jon) and Nicole Organ (Michael), grandchildren, Sam and Ollie Douglas with their father Jef Douglas, brother Brendan Bonia, mother in law Jean Robertson, sisters in law Vicky Pike and Marie Bonia as well as a beautiful circle of extended family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Stan and Sylvia Bonia, brothers Peter and Gerard Bonia, brother in law Earl Pike and father in law Victor Robertson.
Mary was born in Corner Brook and grew up in Pasadena. She was a caregiver from the very beginning minding her brothers and helping her mother. She went on to complete Nursing School in 1976 and had a full 36 year career as a well-respected Registered Nurse. She spent the majority of her career in the Emergency Department before finishing in the OR Recovery Room. Mary was very fond of her work family and cherished her time at the hospital.
Mary was a devoted wife to her husband Danny, she will certainly be his ticket into heaven. Mary and Danny met when she shined his shoes at a nursing school event. He swept her off her feet and fell into the hearts of her family as well. They had 2 daughters, Diana and Nicole. Mary was above of all, a mother. She provided a foundation for life that was unmatched. When her grandchildren came along, she became known as Nana and they became the absolute joy of her life.
In her spare time, Mary was an avid gardener and an active member of her church community at All Hallows Parish.
Mary was a devout Christian and her life was devoted to serving others. She leaves an everlasting legacy of love and kindness. If you would like to honor her, we invite you to take a walk in a garden- her favorite place.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude for the amazing care she received from the staff of Birchview House at Western Long Term Care as well as her physicians along the way. We will be forever grateful knowing she was in such good hands.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
