Obituary of Elsie Marie Osmond

Elsie Marie Osmond
August 22, 1944 – September 21, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elsie Marie Osmond, born August 22, 1944, who entered into eternal rest on September 21, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of her family.

Elsie was predeceased by her devoted husband, Llewellyn, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and faith. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Perry, Lorinda (Joe), and Angela. Elsie was a proud grandmother to Melanie (Terry), Brittany (Justin), and Noah (Jordan), step-grandchild Amanda (Rick) and her joy only grew as she welcomed her cherished great-grandchildren Brayden, Logan, Easton, Emmelia, Haylie, Charlotte and Rowyn.

Born into a large and close-knit family, Elsie deeply treasured her siblings. She adored her sisters, Lillian, Cora, Judy, Loretta (Bruce), Marilyn (Fred), Joan, and step-sister Maisie. She held a special bond with her loving brothers, Lloyd (Juanita), Ford (Pansy) and Clint.

She was predeceased by her mother Maude Jacobs, father Ernest Payne, and stepfather Willis Jacobs, as well as her brothers Terry and Raymond, sister Anne, step-sisters Gertrude (Gertie) Brett and Sophie Randell, sisters-in-law Neta and Effie, and brothers-in-law Scott, Calvin, Ronald, Will, Phillip, and Randolph. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Elsie's life was guided by her unwavering Christian faith. She was a devoted follower of Christ and has now gone home to be with Jesus, a source of peace and comfort to her family.

In her later years, Elsie was lovingly cared for by the dedicated team of nurses and PSW's at Forest Heights Long Term Care, for whom the family is deeply grateful.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her deep love of family, and her steadfast faith. Her presence will be missed, but her legacy of love and devotion will live on in all who knew her.

Family will receive relatives and friends from the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, October 13 at Fillatre Funeral Home, Deer Lake, NL. and from 1:00 - 1:45 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Pentecostal Church, Hampden, NL.  followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Eugene Gillett and Pastor Garfield Osmond officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
