It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lola McLean, age 94, who died peaceful at home on September 23, 2025, in the presence of her devoted son Robert “Bob” after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Originally from Trout River, she married and devoted her life to her family. Fierce in her love and protection, her family was her heart and her purpose.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: Keith (Trish), Michael (Marilyn), both residing in Ontario and Robert with whom she resided. Grandchildren: Erica, Scott, Joseph, Riley, Jake and Julia; great grandchildren: Ethan, Keira, Courtney, Cameron, Carter, Mackenzie, Brennan as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with husband James “Shirl” McLean, parents: Lionel and Wilhelmina Crocker, sisters Rowena Vardy (Garland), Genova Gilbert (Max), as well as in in laws.

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday, September 28^th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 29^th at 11 am from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling Street with Rev. Mickton officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alzheimernl.org.
