It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Kennedy announce her passing on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at the Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 96 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Wayne (Gloria) Kennedy (Jamie, Terry & Crystal), Brian (Sandra) Kennedy (Amanda & Natasha), Jocelyn (Hector) Ingram (Launa, Jenesta & Derek), Gary Kennedy (Laurence & Tammy), Debbie (Edward) Perry (Michael, Michelle, Abbie, Theresa, Sherry & Edward), Abbie Peckford (Nancy, Mark & Kayla), Dana (Tony) Drover (Melissa, Toni & Jeremy), Janice (Dave) Rogers (Sarah, Daniel & Mitchel), Barbara-Ann (Steve) Mercer (Stephen & Shelley); 46 great-grandchildren & 5 great-great-grandchildren; loving sister and best friend Glenda Langer; sister-in-law Jean Howell; special friend Jessie Humber; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Claude and Irene Howell, brothers Woodrow (Eileen) Howell, Max (Doris) Howell, Roy (Pauline) Howell and Ron Howell, sister Jean (Jim) Jewer, brother-in-law John Langer, son Dale Kennedy, Grandson Kyle Rogers and son-in-law Glen Peckford.

A special thank you to Mountainview Retirement Centre, nurses, doctors and staff of 4B, Restorative Care Unit and the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care of our mom.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Ed King officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted (no lilies please) or donations may be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.
