Sean Charles Pennell
October 7, 1960 – October 9, 2025

Sean Charles Pennell passed away peacefully at the age of 65, with family present, after a brief stay at the Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook.

From the day he came into this world on October 7, 1960, as the 10th child in a family of 10, he gave smiles, hugs, and happiness to all who knew and met him.

Sean was happy all the time (except when the Leafs lost). He loved music, singing and dancing, as was evident in the Vera Perlin Association Christmas Concerts, he took part in.

He was a proud member of the Immaculate Conception Church Choir and The Knights of Columbus.

Seans other great love next to family, was hockey. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. “Go, Leafs, Go,” he would shout during the games.

Left to mourn are his sisters Linda Pennell, Louise Goyer, Ollie Cullihall, Joan Dawson (Tony); brothers Larry Pennell, Max Pennell (Irene); sister-in-law Sylvia Pennell; brother-in-law David Pinsent; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sean was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Margaret Pennell; sister Alvina Pinsent; brothers Gordon Pennell and Eric Pennell; sisters-in-law Verna Pennell and Regina (Doll) Pennell; and brothers-in-law Jean-Guy Goyer and Lloyd Cullihall.

His family would like to thank the following: Father Anthony for his spiritual care and home visits, Father Ed Terry for his hospital visits, Dr. Purchase and Western Health Nurses Amy and Jamie for his medical care at home in Deer Lake, and his homecare worker Yvonne Pittman, Dr. Kate, nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook, The Vera Perlin Association (Louise Beck and Myra Spence) for helping us, through his education, shape Sean into the wonderful man he became.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 12 from the hours of 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake. The funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Deer Lake on Monday, October 13 at 10:30 am with Father Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery. Flowers will be graciously accepted, or a donation can be made to the Deer Lake Vera Perlin Association.
