It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Thistle (née Kelly) announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Corner Brook Long Term Care. Elizabeth was ninety-two years old at the time of her passing.

Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Margo (Larry) Noseworthy; her beloved grandchildren, David (Jenn), Heather (Danny Neville), Rebecca (Alan) MacDonald, and Jonathon Whitten; as well as her four treasured great-granddaughters, Sara, Maddy, Kailey, and Katherine. Elizabeth will also be fondly remembered by a large circle of caring nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were all touched by her kindness and warmth.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, David Thistle, her daughter, Gail, and son-in-law, Don Whitten. She was also predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Marcella Kelly, and all her siblings.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Corner Brook Long Term Care, 4-North, for the loving care and compassion they showed to Elizabeth. The kindness and support provided to her and her family are deeply appreciated.

Honouring Elizabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be arranged later so that she may be laid to rest alongside her husband in St. John’s.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers—which, though beautiful, are fleeting—donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Elizabeth’s memory.
