William Donald Albert “Donnie” Bennett
May 9, 1957 - October 14, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Donald “Donnie” Bennett at his home in Corner Brook at the age of 68 years surrounded by the love of his life Lori, his children and grandchildren.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife Lori Bennett, whom he loved so dearly, Lori stood by him every day of his struggles. Don fought a long hard battle of COPD. Despite his illness, he got to spend a lot of his time at his happy place at No Name Brook.

Also left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his brother Dean Bennett. He will forever be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Broady Donovan, Tayshawn, Tyreese, Charlie, their mom Samantha Wilcox, his little princess Scarlett Donovan and her mom Erica Brake, Jacey, Jayde and Jaylah Donovan, Nevaeh Jenkins and her mom Samantha. Each one holding a special spot in his heart, especially his sidekick Jayde whom he had a unique bond with. Jayde was always there to help poppa with his meds and getting him to the car to go for ice cream, wherever pop was, Jayde was never far behind.

Donnie also leaves behind his whole world, his children Jonathan, Andrea and Ethan (Heidi). While Ethan came later in life, he was a blessing in disguise and brought great joy into his dad’s life. Donnie made it to his two grandchildren’s kindergarten graduation and also to Ethan’s grade 12 graduation. He is also remembered by his special friends, Brook Woods and Jonny, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Donnie was predeceased by his mother Edna Bennett and father Buck Bennett.

Special thanks to the Western Memorial Palliative Care Team who made it possible for Donnie to remain at home, Dr. Penney and Dr. Ryan. Thanks to Erica Brake for going above and beyond to help us through everything, our daughter Andrea Donovan for dedicating her everyday life to help Don with his daily struggles, Joslyn Park for keeping things in order for us, All Community Supports Dwayne, Jill, etc. and Mr. Paul Riley for helping Ethan get through his graduation. Special thanks to his Cape Breton family, Jennie for the late-night calls comforting us, and Walter and Kelly Families.
