Obituary of Nora Gear

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nora Gear announce her passing on October 18th, 2025, at Long Term Care, Labrador Health Centre at age 83 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Doris (Maurice), Sidney, George, and Chris; grandchildren: Merrill (Keith), Heather, Chris, Debbie, Adam, Heather, John Thomas, Dominic, Brooklyn, Cindy, Holly, Caroline, Nancy, Jimmy, Roxanne, Brooke, Jenna, Victor, Tracy, Richard, Cora, and Martha; 32 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Nora was predeceased by husband: Edward (Ted) Gear, both her parents, five children, and six grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday, October 20th, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church starting at 2:00 pm with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the Moravian Church Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Long Term Care.

The family would like to offer special thanks to all the nurses and staff of Long Term Care, Dr. O’Dea and all the Helping Hands volunteers.
