It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eva Cooper announce her passing at the Western Long Term Care Home in Corner Brook on October 18, 2025 at the age of 86.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons Craig, Todd and daughter-in-law Yvonnette; daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Clark; granddaughters Megan and her husband Nathan, Caroline and her husband Andy; great-granddaughter Elodie; brothers Bert and his wife Flora, Lloyd and his wife Christine, uncle Harold Piercey, her many nieces and nephews, best friend Maude and special friend Tammy.
She was predeceased by her husband Rueben Cooper, father William Simms, mother Pearl Piercey Simms, brothers William and Wayne, sister Minnie and close friend Alex Pinsent.
Eva was a beautiful spirit who loved life. She loved spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, dancing, and attending the Arts and Culture Center in Stephenville. Eva loved to volunteer her time generously to the Red Cross, Foodbank and the gift shop at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville. She worked at the front desk at the Holiday Inn for 20+ years, where she received a prestigious award for her kindness to others. Eva was also a member of the St. Augustine Anglican Church in Stephenville.
Friends and family will celebrate Eva’s life on a date to be announced. Donations in her name will be graciously accepted and may be made to: St. Augustine Anglican Church, 55 Hillview Avenue, Stephenville, NL A2N 1T3
