Obituary of Patricia MacAuley
Patricia (Pat) Lorna MacAuley (Parsons)
November 12, 1944 - October 24, 2025
It is with great sadness the family of Patricia (Pat) MacAuley announce her peaceful passing with her daughter by her side at Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland on October 24, 2025.
Pat was born on November 12, 1944, to Arthur (Churchill) and Gwendolyn Parsons (Hulan) of Jeffrey’s, Newfoundland. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Terri MacAuley, her granddaughter, Ryley Pumphrey (and fiancée, Kayla Branton), dear friends: Gwen Beaton, Alva Brake and Brian Lowe, as well as extended family and friends, especially the many friends she made during her stay at Crosswinds Seniors’ Resort in Robinsons. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Gwen and Churchill, son-in-law, John Pumphrey, close friends Marian Bartlett and Mary Daley, Aunts and Uncles: Margaret and James Hulan, Martha and Ellis Hulan, Ruby and Bruce Hulan, as well as Mildred and Ellis (Jimmy) Parsons.
Pat was a gentle, caring and compassionate person, who was well known for her love of her family, friends, animals and genuine desire to help others. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them, especially for Terri and Ryley. Ryley was truly her pride and joy, which was quite evident when Pat’s beautiful smile would light up her face whenever she saw Ryley or if anyone even mentioned her name. Pat also adored animals. Her horse, Melody, brought her so much joy and her cats, Bill, Hillary and Chase never went more than a few minutes between cuddles and treats. She often spoke of her horse-riding days in Quebec with her dear friend Marian as being some of her most cherished memories. Likewise, Pat consistently brought these personal qualities with her everyday during her career as a nurse. She displayed an aura of professionalism and comfort to her patients, especially in the case room of the maternity ward. She was the kind of nurse they would want to have looking after them during those precious times and would often speak of her for years to come.
The family would graciously like to thank the support Pat received during her stay at Crosswinds Seniors’ Resort in Robinsons and Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre. A special thank-you is also extended to Tracy Madore and the staff at Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre for their thoughtfulness and the caring attention they provided during such a difficult time.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home. Stephenville Crossing. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 11:00 am at Mary Magdalene Church in Jeffrey’s, with Reverend Norman Cutler officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Centre or a local animal shelter. Pat would have been appreciative for their support.
Until we meet again. Rest peacefully in the arms of Mom and Dad.
