Obituary of Tommy Basto
Please share a memory of Tommy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tommy Abia Henry Julius Raymond Basto beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend on October 26, 2025. Tommy touched many lives in his all too short life. He was kind, caring, always sharing whatever he had with others. He loved music, video games, electronics of all kinds, costumes – especially plague doctors, animatronics, seeing his “family members” and spending time with his family and friends. He had many hospitalizations and was always a trooper right to the end. Although his life was short, he was always surrounded by people and things that he loved most.
Tommy was fortunate to have a large biological family, mom- Amalia Basto, dad – Tommy Tuglavina, siblings - Selma, Clemence, Julius, Heidi and Jake, Wilson and Pauline, along with grandparents, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He found a special place with his adopted family- parents Shirley Flowers and Michelle Kinney, siblings Stephanie (Dominic) niece Jayen, Blake (Andrew), and Aiden; grandparents, aunts, uncles (especially Aunt Sandra and Uncle Tom) and cousins, along with many relationships with foster siblings (especially Boas and Emilio), and friends. His special friend Keith was his constant companion for many years and more recently George was a daily visitor. He appreciated Lito, Krystal, Nikki, Jenny L. and Cassi who were always there for support and helping in ways too numerous to mention.
A huge thank-you to the physicians, nurses, paramedics, staff who were present on his most recent visit to the ER but also the many times he was a patient. Tommy was always treated with respect, kindness and compassion.
A private viewing for family and friends will take place at Fillatre’s Tuesday October 28, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. Cremation will follow in the coming days.
In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted by EMT to Elstamish@gmail.com and will be used to purchase electronic devices for individuals with special needs. Or donations of Halloween costumes accepted at 218 Kelland Drive to be distributed to those in need.
