Obituary of Sandra Warr
Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On November 11, 2025, heaven gained an angel. Sandra (Sandy) Warr (nee Wylie) passed away surrounded by the love of her family in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. She fought a short battle with breast cancer with grace and vigor. She showed the true measure of her strength and courage, while thinking selflessly about those around her amidst this journey.
Sandy was born in St. John's, NL on September 29, 1943, was married on July 4, 1964, to the love of her life (Charlie) and made the move to Happy Valley later that year. This move was the start of a new life and new business venture. A little while later they welcomed a family, put down roots in their new town and called Happy Valley home for the next 60 plus years. She was the epitome of bravery from the tender age of 20 until God called her Home. During her remarkable 82 years, she used every opportunity to make people's lives better. She was always there to help from baking cookies for a bake sale to knitting comfort shawls for cancer patients. She thrived when helping others. Sandy had a gift of making connections with people. Her hugs were magical. Giving and connecting brought her tremendous joy. She loved fiercely making her a pillar in her family and community.
Sandy was a devoted mom and nana to the people she held deep in her heart. With broken hearts, she leaves to mourn her oldest son Chris, daughter Dee (Roland) and youngest son Greg (Tanya). Sandy was the sweetest nana to four adored grandchildren: Brandon (Emily), Tyler, Shanelle (Scott) and Sabrina. She held a special place in her heart (and hand) for her grand pups; they will miss her love and treats. Sandy also will be incredibly missed by her precious furbaby Nikki-Lynn who gave her endless snuggles and never left her side. These were her treasures.
Sandy is pre-deceased by her husband Charles Warr and daughter Kimberly along with her parents George and Phylis Wylie, as well as her in-laws Ruby and Charles Warr Sr. She is also pre-deceased by her sister and confident Joann Tilley (nee Wylie). There are countless other family and friends that were special to Sandy who paved the way for her arrival in heaven. She knew the reunion would be glorious.
Sandy was an amazing woman filled with kindness and sincerity. She walked this earth as an angel. Her legacy of goodness will have an impact for years to come. She is quite simply irreplaceable.
The family wishes to thank all those that contributed to Sandy's health and happiness over the years. A special thank you to the staff of Labrador Grenfell Health in particular Dr. Woollam, Dr. Curran and most recently the Emergency Room Staff for their compassion and care over the past few weeks.
