Margaret “Maggie” Lavina Mitchell
1940 - 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Margaret (Nanny Maggie) Mitchell announce her passing on Tuesday, November 18th at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville at the age of 85 years.
Margaret “Maggie” Lavina Mitchell was a woman whose kindness quietly changed the world around her. She cared deeply, loved without conditions and offered wisdom with gentle strength. Her smile could calm a storm, and her laughter brought warmth wherever she went.
As a mother/ grandmother/great grandmother she was a safe haven- a soft place to land and a bright light to follow. She listened with her heart, believed in us when it mattered most, and filled our lives with stories, comfort and unwavering love.
Though she is no longer here with us, her spirit remains in every act of kindness we give, in every memory we cherish and in every heart she touched. Heaven gained a beautiful angel, and her love will forever live on through us.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters: Wavey late husband Otis), Katie (Whyman), Joy (Boyce), Molly (Lester); grandchildren: Dyson, Taralee, Amy, Skyann, Vaden, Kelsey and Tori; 13 great grandchildren; 3 very special great grandchildren, nurses: Nixon, Aria and Arlo who made everyday special for her. Margaret leaves to mourn a very special bond to her baby girl Molly, who took such great care of her over all the years but especially the last 3 years in all of her sickness.
Margaret is predeceased by her husband, Clifford; parents; Adolphus and Bessie Mitchell; 2 angel grandsons: sister, Brenda; brothers: Frank and Junior; son -in- law, Otis Regular.
In respecting Margaret’s wishes cremation will take place, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Neil Patterson and to the special nurses who took such great care of mom.
