It is with extreme heartbreak and sadness that the family of Kylie Matthews announce her passing on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Western Memorial Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook at the age of 21 years. 

Kylie was born in Corner Brook to Matt and Tracy Matthews on April 2, 2004 and graduated from High School in 2022.  She then attended Grenfell where she was in the process of completing a degree in Social Cultural studies.  Kylie lost her vision when she was 16 years old and became passionate about helping people with disabilities - becoming a CNIB National Youth Council Member, a CNIB SCORE mentor, and a Max Simms CNIB family camp volunteer, the importance of which she was extremely dedicated to. 

Kylie dearly loved life and to spend time with her numerous friends, family, her little dog Abby, and her new husband Matty. 

Kylie had the personality of a  sunflower; always smiling radiantly with a positive attitude that was infectious.  She was a beautiful girl with an exceptional personality that always made everyone so proud of her.  The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the Palliative Care unit of Western Regional Hospital who went above and beyond in providing exceptional care in Kylie's final days.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25th from the hours of 6-9:00 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue. There will be be no funeral service.
