Charles Joseph Martin
February 3, 1934 – November 25, 2025
 

It is with sadness that the family of Charles Joseph Martin announce his passing on November 25, 2025 at the age of 91 years, surrounded by family.

He leaves to mourn his children Gail (Lester) Butt and Charlie Jr. Martin; grandchildren Karen (Jody) Whiffen, Trevor (Christie) Butt, Amy Martin, Susan (Jay) Fyten; great grandchildren Andrew, Sean, David, Nathaniel, Kaycenn, Navi, and Jacob; 3 great grandchildren residing in Alberta, sister Ethel; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Charles was predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Matchim); children Felix Martin, Maureen Atkins, and Baby Martin; great grandchild Kara; daughter-in-law Susanna Martin, and parents Patrick and Greta Martin.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, your care and compassion will not be forgotten. Thank you to the staff at the Mountain View House for taking good care of Dad.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 from the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake. Funeral Service will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 2 pm with Pastor White officiating. An Interment will follow at Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery.
