Corner Brook, NL

 

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hazel Sheppard, nee Mitchell, announce her peaceful passing on Friday, November 28th, 2025 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 96 years.

Leaving to mourn are her children: Maxine Crossley (Hardy) and Eloise Barry (Pius); grandchildren, Nicole (Brian), Craig (Samantha) and Blair (Kathleen); great grandchildren, Jordan, Erin, Evan, Van and Kayo; along with several nieces and nephews.

Hazel is predeceased by her husband Newman, son Paul, grandson Jason; parents John and Elizabeth, brothers Reg, Harry, Jim, Joe and Bert.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care, 4-South for their unwavering support and care of our mother, as well a special thank to you her niece Ina, who helped with her care over the years. Thank you to Dr. Morris, who was her family Doctor for several years.

Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday evening from 7-9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1st at 10:30 AM from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jocelyn Cook officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
