It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce McKay announce her passing on Saturday, November 29th at Crosswinds Senior Resort, Robinsons at the age of 87.
Together again with her husband and lifelong farming partner in time to start planning the springtime planting and summer crop. May there be no rocks or weeds in heaven to carry off the fields, just beautiful soil for all things to root and grow. Forever loved.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter, Dianne ( Phonse) Bennett; sons: Robert McKay, Brad (Eileen ) McKay; foster son, Robert Walsh; grandchildren: Paul Bennett, Aaron (Miranda) Bennett, and Megan Bennett; great grandchildren: Oliver, Amieve, Nadia, Lydia, Alyssa, Landon, Wilf and Ivan; sisters-in-law: Rachel McKay ,Nita McKay, brother- in-law: Doug Daniel, as well many other nieces and nephews.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband and loving partner Wilfred McKay; foster son, Bill Walsh; parents: Robert and Isabella Gale; brothers: Lester, Leaman, Gordon Gale; sisters: Rose Miller and Bette Daniel; sisters-in-law: Irene Gale and Juanita Gale, Edna Alley, Onie McCarthy, Melba Roberts and Edith Shears; brothers -in-law: Willam McKay, James McKay, Alvin McKay, Ernest Roberts, Max Shears, Roy Alley, Charles McCarthy and Don Miller.
In respecting Joyce’s wishes cremation will take place and interment will follow at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
