Obituary of William Thomas Brown

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness and loving memories that the family of the late William Thomas (Tom) Brown announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on November 30, at the age of 91.

He leaves behind his children: Elizabeth, Douglas (Serena Persaud), and Lynda (Austin Bugden); his grandchildren: Sophia and Rhys; “grand-dog” Roxy; his sister Dierdre; his niece Joanne McCarthy (Kevin); and many other family members and friends.

Tom was predeceased by his wife Florence of 55 years, his brother David, and his parents Alphonso and Elizabeth.

Born and raised in St. John’s, Tom was a proud member of the Salvation Army Band alongside his father and brother. He enjoyed a long career in automobile sales and was deeply involved in his community through the Elks Club, where he served as Provincial President. In 1958, Tom came to Corner Brook for a weekend, met his beloved Florence, and chose to make it his home for the rest of his life.
