March 3, 1961 – December 3, 2025

Lark Harbour, NL

Surrounded by the ones who loved him the most, Shawn took his final breath and went home on December 3^rd, 2025 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 64 years.

A man who loved life and his family profusely, he fought to the bitter end, determined that there were better days ahead, however God had other plans.

Left behind with precious memories are his wife of 39 years, Roberta; daughters Angela (Jamie) Lidstone, Nicole (Matthew) Wayson, Joanna Pottle (Justin) and son Nathaniel; grandchildren Luke, Landon, Carly, Jenny, Josie and Maddie. Sisters and brothers Sheila (Howard), Beverly (Jim), Bryon (Terri-Lynn) Sheldon (Katie) and Bobby (Shelly). His special uncle Paul, brothers and sisters -in-law Marion and Floyd, Barb and Paul, Eric and Mabel, Lorena and Frank; nieces and nephews Cory, Christa, Ashley, Evan, Chloe, Emma, Noah, Dylan, Brandon and Kaylee; also, Alicia, Brooklyn and Brody who he loved as if they were his own.

Predeceased by his parents Max and Marie Pottle, in-laws Nathaniel and Rosanna Hickey, nephew Adam, brother-in-law Gary and sister-in-law Sherri.

Music was his passion, and there was not an instrument he couldn’t play; talents he shared with his siblings, daughters and grandchildren. His years of pain and heartache are over, and though we are sad to see him go, we are at peace knowing he is with Mom and Daddy, a guitar in his hand and memories in our hearts where he will live forever.

A special thank you to our local Fire department, Rev. Effie, doctors, nurses and staff of Unit 5A, ACE, ICU and restorative Care who worked so hard to get him home. Your compassionate care will never be forgotten.

Friends and family may visit St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour on Friday, December 5^th from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6^th at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Church with Reverend Effie Organ officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Lark Harbour/York Harbour Volunteer Fire Dept.
