Obituary of Rita Rich

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Rich announce her passing on December 24, 2025 at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay at the age of 69 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Shane Payne, Terry Payne, Katrina Somers, Ken Jr Somers, Kurtis Somers, Bonnie-Jean (BJ) Rich, Stacey Jack; Sister: Kathleen Benuen; Grandchildren: Blair, Lindsey, Amber, Taylor, Tyson, Shelby, Sierrah, Lincoln, Lennox, Patricia, Kurtis Jr, Neveah, Kyah, Darius, Raine, and Khaled; Great Grandchild: Sawyer; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rita was predeceased by her parents: Edward and Adeline Rich; Brothers: Matthew Rich, Joseph Rich, and Edward Patrick Rich; Sisters: Nellie Jack, Angela Andrew, and Suzanne Rich.

Visitation will be held at Fillatres Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 2PM-4PM. A wake will be held at CYN, Sheshatshiu on Friday, December 26, 2025 starting at 6PM.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from the Roman Catholic Church, Sheshatshiu, starting at 11AM, with Father Joe officiating. Cremation to follow in the coming days.
