Obituary of Thelma LeCoure
LeCoure
Thelma Harriet
1936 - 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Lecoure announce her passing. Thelma, being the strong lady she always was chose one of the most sacred days in the catholic religion to start her journey into the spirit world, Christmas Day, Dec 25th, 2025. She was surrounded by her very close friends and as she would say her adopted family Arlene and Cal White and the most caring and respectful nurses Glenys and Melissa at the Sir Thomas Rodderick Hospital.
Thelma enjoyed life to the fullest. She lived in her own home until December 2nd. She had very strong faith and spent many hours sitting in her special spot on the couch praying and doing the rosery. Thelma was very fortunate to have amazing support through TLC. She really enjoyed all home support workers especially Dot Harris who she said was like her mother, Syvia Lee a good friend, Kira Hillard, Erica Cressy and previously Nastasia and Charmine plus others from TLC. She enjoyed visits from her niece Val Pittman, nephew Cody (Cassondra) Blanchard and some little friends Brody and Reid. She also loved seeing all the dog’s visit. In her early years Thelma always enjoyed walking with her friends and brother-in-law. She always carried a pocket full of treats to make sure she had something special for all the puppies on her walk. She had many of her own animals and will now be reunited with all of them.
Thelma leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband of 66 years Donald LeCoure. Brother Raymond (Jen) White, Sister Stella (Lloyde) Bravo, sister-in-law Muriel White, brother-in-law Ronnie Lecoure and close family friends Arlene and Cal White. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Nathaniel White and Stella Bennett, sisters Gladys (Stanley) Rose, Edith White, Alama White, Emily (Ed) Hepburn, Jean (Ron) Blanchard, brothers Walter (Eileen) White, Kevin White, Billy Madore.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 30th , 6-9 pm at St. Joseph Roman Catholic, St. George’s from where the funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 31st at 10:00am with Father Edmund Dantes officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southwest Coast SPCA.
The medicine unit nursing staff and Dr. Ada at the Sir Thomas Roddick hospital are all very special people. Their care, compassion, sincerity, and professionalism throughout Thelma’s stay can’t be overstated. RN Glennys really displayed the utmost integrity, care and compassion during Thelmas passing. Thank you! Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 37 West Street, Stephenville Crossing. The family guestbook may be signed at www.fillatre.ca
