Edna Ruth Clarke

November 20, 1932 – December 31, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Edna Ruth Clarke announce her passing on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 93 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories brother-in-law Bill Clarke (Fleurette, 2018); wonderful aunt to Joanne Kennedy, Jerry (Karen) Kennedy, David (Cindy) Kennedy, Susan Kennedy, Penny (Gary) Millgard, Reid Clarke, Scott Clarke (Julie Wilson), Graeme Clarke, Tracey (Dave) Hill, Susan (Leo) DesJardine, Pattie Danos and Barb (Lyall) Davidson; Sean (Tammy) Kelly and Brent (Amanda) Kelly. She is also survived by a wide circle of family, friends and relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband Doug Clarke (2015), parents Eli and Francis Kennedy, brothers Baxter Kennedy (2021) and Roddy Kennedy (1994), sisters-in-law Frances Kennedy (2019), Verna Kennedy (2023), Marilyn Danos (1987), mother-in-law Ethel Proctor (1991), nephews Craig Kennedy (2018) and Keith Kennedy (2024), Bruce Kelly (2005) and Rose Kelly (2005).

Our family would like to thank Dr. Mark Smallwood for his care of Aunt Edna. The staff at 5A at the hospital, she received exemplary care from all of her caregivers.

Thank you to Rev. Jocelyn Cook for the visits at the hospital and for being there for us and offering support and prayers as we went through this difficult time.

The family would like to thank our good family friend Bob Joseph for taking care of Aunt Edna and being there when she needed him.

There will be no visitation at this time. Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life in the summer of 2026.
