NOTE OF THANKS

We, the family of the late Jerome (Jerry) Leonard, would like to express many thanks to all the people who helped us at a difficult time.

                Thank you to Dr. Young & Kimberly for all their kindness shown to Jerry over the years.

                Thank you to the staff & doctors (Angels) on 4C at the WMRH.  Also, many thanks to the staff & doctors (Angels) on the Palliative Care Unit.

                Thank you to Laura at Fillatre’s Funeral Home for the kindness, knowledge & professional help she gave to us.

                Thank you to Father Terry & Brian Terry for the beautiful service.  Thank you to Catherine Jordan.  Thank you to Edna & Leo for reading during the service.

                Thank you to our Family & Friends who visited the funeral home, for those who dropped off food, sent cards, called, texted, sent mass cards and shared in the service with us.  Your kindness & thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.

Jerome Joseph (Jerry) Leonard

1939-2026

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jerome Joseph (Jerry) Leonard announce his peaceful passing on January 6^th, 2026 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL at the age of 86 years.

Leaving to mourn with found and loving memories are his wife of 61 years Daphne Leonard (Price); son Stephen (Rosilyn); special grandsons: Andrew (Ashley), Aaron and Aiden Leonard; sisters: Mary Courtney, Brenda Lewis, and Jean Blackwood. Sisters-in-law: Sandra (Gerry) Kelly, Christina (Wayne) Kelly, Debbie (Leo) Bruce, Gladys Leonard and Edna Price; brother-in-law Larry (Paula) Price; special friends in St. John’s Jim and Anita Mahoney; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerome is predeceased by his parents Cyril and Annie Leonard; parents-in-law Chesley and Laura Price; brother Tom Leonard; brothers-in-law Sylvester Courtney, Vincent Lewis and special friend and brother-in-law Wilson Price.

Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue Corner Brook on Friday, January 9, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 -1:30 pm, followed by the funeral in the Chapel at 2:00 pm with Father Ed Terry officiating.  The interment service will be held at Mt. Patricia Cemetery at the conclusion of the funeral service. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Special thanks to Dr. Robert Young and Kimberly for all their care over the years. The family wishes to extend a very heartfelt thank you to doctors, nurses and staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Unit 4C and the Palliative Care Unit.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Corner Brook Rapids Swim Club by etransfer to treasurer@cbrapids.com with a note stating in memory of Jerry Leonard.
