It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Late Kathleen Madore on Monday January 5th at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with special memories and love her partner of 17 years, Clarence Short and his children; her children: Vernon ( Anna), Wanda, Roy, Monty (Karen), Bruce (Wendy), Dennis( Lois), Rosalind(Peter),Brad (Sharon), son -in- law Wayne; grandchildren: Jennifer ( Ron), Jackie (Allen), Estell, Peter (Tara), Richard, Jason ( Mireille), Amy ( Kevin), Niki (Chris),Lee, Heather (Andrew), Gavin ( Melisa), Clint ( Sarah), Samantha, Mitchel, Haley ( Tyler), Daniel ( Madeline), Cole; 21 great- grandchildren; brother, Steve ( Marjorie) Gavin; brother -in-law William Gillingham, and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Kathleen was well known by many for her love of life , dancing and singing a song. She loved a good laugh and telling jokes. Her children all have fond memories and enjoyed listening to her tell the many stories of her young childhood years in Bear Cove as well as her family’s adventurous travels during the government relocation from Bear Cove to Curling. She loved to be involved in the community by being in concerts. She enjoyed church services and singing in the choir. She was always up for a good game of scrabble.
She is predeceased by her husband Austin of 42 years; daughter, Suzanne; granddaughter, Holly; great granddaughter, Mary Helen; parents: George and Matilda Gavin; parents – in – law, Royal and Ettie Madore; sisters: Beatrice, Julie ( Dave), Grace (Gar)and by her brother Henry.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2:00pm from St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Jeffrey’s with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment will follow later this summer.
As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the St. Mary Magdalene Anglican church memorial fund.
