With fond and loving memories the family of Gladys Ada White announce her passing on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 99 years.

Gladys was born in Glenburnie, Bonne Bay to parents Chesley and Moriah Belbin on June 26, 1926.

She will be greatly missed by her 6 children: Terry (Maureen), Karon, Brenda, Donald (Bernice), Kevin (Robin), Glen (Laura), 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Sadie Belben, along with a large circle of relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Harry, daughters Connie and Maisie and her parents Chesley and Moriah Belbin, sister Gwendolyn, brothers Thomas, Victor, Clyde, and Kenneth.

Gladys was the heart of the family. She was a very humble and modest person. She was known for her love of family where she would always be found in the kitchen, preparing meals, making desserts, cookies, cakes and her famous cinnamon buns. She was an exceptional cook, who went above and beyond for her family.

Gladys was an avid church goer who loved dressing up and attending church on Sundays. She was a well loved and caring person. She had a big heart and a courageous smile, she touched the hearts of everyone she met and will be dearly missed.

A special thank you to Joy and all the staff at Westmount Estates for all the special care given to our mom during her time there. She always considered the staff "her girls". Thank you to her family doctor, Dr. O'Driscoll. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, the incredible love and support that surrounded us will remain with us forever.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, Corner Brook on Wednesday, January 7th from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at First Pentecostal Church, 58 Premier Drive, Corner Brook on Thursday, January 8th  at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Lindsey Foster officiating. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal cemetery located on Osmond's Avenue, Corner Brook, NL. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Pentecostal Church Building Fund, or to a charity of one's choice.
