Robert Craig Myrden
August 12, 1958 – January 8, 2026
Corner Brook, NL

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Rob Myrden, on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 67. Rob was born on August 12, 1958, in Corner Brook, NL. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism, his generous spirit, and his lifelong dedication to the people and communities he loved.

Above all, Rob treasured time spent with his beloved Lovey, whose companionship meant the world to him. A passionate music enthusiast, he had a deep love for all kinds of music—especially Steely Dan—which was often the soundtrack to his days. He was happiest when surrounded by good friends, sharing laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments.

Rob devoted much of his life to the development of youth through sports. He took great pride in coaching and playing with the Aces and the Barons, and he never missed the chance to play Sunday morning touch football with, first the TDs and then later the Golden Gophers. Another highlight for Rob was the annual road hockey game "curling vs the world" that happened at the Pepsi Center parking lot on New Years day, Rob participated in this event for 46 years.  After retiring from coaching, he found a new passion on the golf course, spending his summers golfing at Blomidon, where he quickly became a clubhouse favorite among both staff and fellow golfers.

He is lovingly remembered by his partner Catherine (Lovey) his son Greg (Erika).  He is also remembered by his siblings Helen (Sam) and Paul (Jennifer). He was an uncle and friend to many, including Steve (Morgan) Catherine’s son, and all of the Young family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Byron (Barney) and Mary Myrden as well as his dear friends Mark Basha, Barry Wood, and Brad Ruth all of whom held a special place in his heart.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the palliative care team, who were absolutely exceptional in their care. Their kindness, compassion, and support meant more than words can express—to both Rob and his family.

Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue Saturday from 1:00–4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel.

Rob will be remembered for his unwavering positivity, his dedication to others, and the countless lives he touched through sport, friendship, and kindness.

As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Corner Brook Baseball Association by etransfer to paymentscbba@gmail.com with a note stating in memory of Rob Myrden. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed through Forget Me Not Ceremonies.
