Nicole Grace Gillingham

September 8, 1973 - January 14, 2026

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicole Grace Gillingham (nee brown) at the palliative care unit, after her courageous battle with cancer on January 14, 2026 at the young age of 52 years. Nicole was a wonderful mother and best friend to her only child Kristina (my girl) who was her whole world.

Throughout her life she made her livelihood starting alongside her mom at buck or two, then moving on to greet you with a smile at McDonald’s. Followed by her next steps to dominion which led to her last job of all working at western health in the dietary department. In all of her work life she was known for her reliability, kindness, her big beautiful smile and being a friend to all.

Outside of work Nicole found her greatest joy in the great outdoors. It all started with family camping adventures, where many stories were told and memories were made. She also had a love for hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter, where she made some of her closest friends. When not outside in nature she was sure to be found cuddled up in her favourite chair with her fur babies and a Nora Roberts book in hand.

Her memories will live on in her daughter Kristina (Lorne), cherished mom Linda, the father of her daughter Tom Gillingham. Along with her mother in law Marie, sister in laws Sam Kenny (Rick), Cindy (Tom) Edison. Special nieces Brittney Edison (Christian), Natesha Collishaw (Brandon), Morgan Kenny and Devin Kenny. Cherished cousin and best friend Ellen Rowsell and daughter Tory Bennett. As well as her aunt Judy parsons, uncles Victor (Rose) Rowsell, Bill (Lis) Rowsell. Last but not least her beloved fur babies Kali and Oscar. Nicole will certainly be missed by a large number of other family and friends.

Nicole was predeceased by her father Dale Brown, her sister Rhonda and nephew Devon Collishaw, Father in law Tom Gillingham SR, grandparents Joyce and William Rowsell, Grace and Marcel Serre, and Uncle Brian (Pat) Rowsell.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18,2026, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 2 pm at the fillatres chapel with Major Brian Wheeler officiating. Inurnment to be held at a later date.
