Obituary of Eileen Penney

Eileen Penney
July 12, 1942 - January 22, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Penney announce her passing on Thursday, January 22^nd, 2026, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 83 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Marina Penney and Daisy Walsh (Wayne); grandchildren: Keisha Penney, Trey Manning, Nicole Walsh, and Stephanie Walsh (Brandon); brother: Noah Genge (Maria); sisters: Jessie Genge, Josie Genge, Virginia Dredge; sister-in-laws: Martha Jane Genge and Marina Genge; daughter-in-law: Jody Manning; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eileen is predeceased by her husband: Stephen Penney; son: Todd Penney; parents: Cyril and Joyce Genge; twin brother: Albert Genge Jr.; and Brother-in-laws: George Dredge, Abraham Genge, and Roland Genge.

Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Friday, January 23^rd, 2026, from 7:00-9:00pm. A private family viewing will take place on Saturday, January 24^th, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24^th, 2026, from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, starting at 2:00pm with Rev Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and doctors in emergency and inpatients of the Labrador Health Centre for taking such good care of our mom.
