Pardy, Elizabeth Janet
(née Gillam)
Corner Brook, Newfoundland
September 20, 1944 - January 26, 2026
Peacefully and with her daughters by her side, Elizabeth Janet Pardy passed away on January 26, 2026 at the age of 81 years.
Left with countless happy memories and hearts full of love are her daughters, Deborah (Aart) and Catherine (Jason) and her three cherished grandchildren, Willem David (Netherlands) and twins Olivia and Jack (Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia).
Janet will be lovingly remembered by niece and dear friend, Joy (Ray) and special grandniece, Judy Parsons (St John's), brothers, George (Cora) (Fredericton) and David (Dale) Gillam (Corner Brook), brother-in-law Kevin (Marilyn) Pardy (St John's) as well as extended family and friends.
Janet was predeceased by the love of her life, best friend and beloved husband of 55 years, David George Pardy (October 5, 2020); brother, Wilfred; sisters: Bernice, Alice, Doreen, Louise and Claudia; parents, Walter and Louisa (née Harris) Gillam and father and mother-in-law, G.C. Milligan and Ada (née Earle) Pardy.
Beginning their beautiful life together as teenagers when David (Dave) asked Janet (Jenny) to roller skate, the two were inseparable, marrying on August 12, 1965. Together they raised their daughters in a home filled with love, laughter and music.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Janet’s greatest joy in life was her family. Gardener, nature lover, star gazer and #1 golf caddy, she found happiness in the adventures she shared with those most important to her.
Janet was a natural caregiver and her warmth and kindness were apparent in the way she cared for her mother-in-law, Ada, sister, Bernice, and finally, her dear husband, David.
The family would like to express their gratitude for special friends and neighbours who were supportive and thoughtful, helping our family and brightening our mother's days during her struggle with stroke and dementia, both at home as well as during the past two years at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre. The love you have shown will never be forgotten. Thank you as well to the nursing staff at 4 South, who cared for and treated our mother with compassion and respect.
At Janet’s request, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
