Remembering James Ledwell
1952-2025
The eldest son of Cecil and Alice (Butler) Ledwell. Jim died following a painful but thankfully brief illness.
Predeceased by his parents; two infant brothers; younger sister, Monica; and his dear partner, Ann Marie. He is deeply mourned by his sisters: Jean Ann Osu, Patrice, Elizabeth and Barbara; brothers: Frank (Helen), John and Cecil (Rhonda); dear nephews and nieces; as well as his life-long friend, Aaron Simon and many close relatives and friends.
A stationary and marine mechanic, Jim spent his early years on the DEW line in Canada's Far North and on the water.
Kind and generous to a fault, Jim lived his retirement years assisting his neighbors, friends and family with all things mechanical. A lifelong reader and regular patron of the public library he was an informed and interesting conversationalist.
As he wished, Jim was privately remembered by his family. His ashes were committed to the waters of the Grand Codroy River where he learned the art and love of trouting.
Our family is grateful to all who cared for Jim, especially to Frank and Helen in whose home he spent his final few weeks.
May he rest in peace.
