Obituary of Neil Collett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Neil Collett, age 78, of Corner Brook. Dad passed peacefully away on February 8, 2026.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his devoted wife of 58 years, Marg; his children, Tom and Harvey (Rosanne); his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Ashleigh, and Neil; his brother, Fred (Olive); his sisters-in-law, Anne (Dave) and Marie; and a large circle of extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Neil and Alice Collett; his siblings, Lilly, Edward, Doug, Grace, and Effie; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bill, Margaret, Snora, Harold, Ron, Jim, Harvey, Bill and Paula.

Dad was born in Daniel’s Harbour and lived his life between there, Corner Brook, Cow Head, and Portland Creek, returning to Corner Brook in his final years. He was a man who worked hard for his family and could build, fix, or create anything he set his mind to. He was a devoted husband, father, and poppy. In recent years, he made it his mission to visit our Mom in long-term care every day that he was physically able—a true reflection of his deep love and unwavering dedication.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff on 5D at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.

As he wished, cremation has taken place; Dad will be returning home to unite with the Lord and will rest at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Daniel’s Harbour with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Daniel's Harbour on Thursday, February 19 from 2-9 PM and continuing on Friday, February 20 10-12 Noon from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Until we meet again.
