It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elwood Parsons of Curling. He passed peacefully away on February 9, 2026 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his family Anna and Jim Norman, Allan and Loni Wells, Robert and Tracey Wells, Robyn Norman and John Green, Carly and Michael Hynes, Taylor Norman, Hudson, Parker and Brynlee Wells, Daniella Perruzza, Tony, Natalie and Leandro Perruzza. He will also be missed by his special canine friends Bear, Lilee and Baxter.
He is predeceased by his mother Susannah Clarissa Parsons, his loving wife of 47 years, Florence Parsons (nee Hoskins) of Greenspond, NL; his devoted companion Gloria Wells.
Elwood was born and raised in Curling and spent his entire life there. After marrying Florence he purchased a house on Woodbine Avenue, a short walk from his family home. They owned and operated a small store and games room out of their basement where many locals visited regularly. Elwood worked as a respected electrician with Lockes Electrical for his entire career until retirement and enjoyed his job immensely. He was a wonderful Bowler and played for many years travelling around the country for tournaments. These were some of his greatest memories. He was a wonderful man with the most honest soul and will be remembered and missed always.
We would like to extend a very special thank you to Lohnes retirement home, Loretta and the amazing staff for the care you gave Elwood during his stay with you, also thank you to the compassionate nurses and doctors who cared for Elwood during his final days. As he wished cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be planned for a later date.
