Harold Brian Rubia, aged 67, passed away on February 22, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children.

Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose gentle spirit and steady kindness touched everyone who knew him. For 44 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife Debbie (née Antle), a partnership built on love, loyalty, and deep companionship.

He was a proud father to Marilyn Anstey and her husband Trevor, and to his son Tyler. Nothing brought Harold more joy than being “Pop” to his grandchildren — Bradley, Ryder, and Kendall (his princess). They were the heart of his world.

Harold was also cherished by his siblings: sisters Anne, Mickey, Mary, Evelyn, and Lydia, and brothers Leo, Vince, and Stephen. Also, a large circle of cousins, nieces and nephews. His bond with his family was strong, and he carried a deep love for each of them throughout his life.

For many years, Harold worked as an airport security guard, a role he fulfilled with the same calm reliability and care that defined him as a person. He was known for his warm nature, his willingness to help others, and the genuine compassion he offered to friends, family, and neighbours.

Harold found peace exploring the trails where he grew up. Riding his quad through the woods he loved was one of his greatest joys — a way to stay connected to the land, the memories, and the freedom he cherished.

Harold will be remembered as a kind soul who cared deeply for the people around him. His absence leaves a profound emptiness, but his love, stories, and gentle spirit will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to know him.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, 45 Bennett Avenue, Deer Lake on Saturday, February 28, 2026 with Pastor Jeffrey White officiating. Donations in Harold’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
