Robert (Bob) Perry

Bob passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on March 1, 2026 at the Palliative Care unit.   He was 88.

He leaves behind his loving wife Shirley, son Rob (Denise), granddaughters Peggy (Ron) and Stephanie (Charles) and great grandchildren Robbie, Katy and Madeleine.   He is also survived by his brother Dave and sister Barbara (Elmer), brother in law Ches, sisters in law Beatrice and Edna, as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Mary, stepfather Tom LeDrew, and brothers George and Garland.

He was the original Bob the Builder. From building a life for his family working at City Motors for over 30 years; to building his family home on Bayview Heights from an old two story house that he bought; to building a cozy two bedroom cabin at Pynns Brook from a house he tore down on Burkes Road (only to have to add on an additional two bedrooms the next year when his first granddaughter came along).

He and Mom went on vacations around the world with Chrysler Canada, but even in these beautiful locations his heart was back at his cabin in Pynns Brook.    He was an avid gardener who would try growing anything (in a constant struggle against bugs and slugs, and Duchess the horse who loved to raid his carrot patch).   At harvest time he would then generously share his bounty of vegetables with many friends and family.   Several small sheds and greenhouses grew up around his garden just as quickly as his vegetables did.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4 from the hours of 1-4 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, with the funeral service follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at Fillatre’s Chapel, Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
