Obituary of Gerald F. Shears

Shears Gerald Frederick Of St. David’s, NL 1949 – 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Shears announce his peaceful passing on Monday, March 2nd at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his children: Tamara (Brent) Hynes, David (Abbey) Shears, Suzanne Shears (Denny), Cory Alley and Jenna Alley. Grandchildren: Jordan, MacKenzie, Sarah, Jason, Matthew, Dominic, Alex, Danielle, Kayden; great-granddaughter, Hannah; his siblings: Una McEachren, Robert Shears, Cavell McEachren and his special pet cat Sadie along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gerald was predeceased by his parents: Edward & Eva( Alice) Shears; siblings: Edward Shears, Clara Gillam, Melvin Shears, Simon Shears, Eva Madore, Sarah Madore and baby Joseph. Cremation will take place and interment will be held in the summer of 2026. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
