Paramjit S. (Pammy) Gill
Corner Brook, NL
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family of Pammy Gill announce his passing. Pammy passed peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Samadh Bhai, India on May 9, 1948, Pammy moved to Canada as a young man in 1971 and eventually settled in Newfoundland where he met his wife, Fanny and they built their beautiful family together. Pammy’s sons, Dulah and Darah, and his four grandchildren were his pride and joy. There were many special family vacations and trips to India, but Pammy’s fondest memories were of time spent at the family’s cabin at Pinchgut Lake where he loved to share a game of cards and a laugh with friends and family.
Pammy spent 32 years working with the Government of Newfoundland as Public Health Inspector, making friends wherever he went. During his retirement years, he was able to spend more time travelling the world. He loved travelling back home to India and visiting his many relatives along the way. Pammy loved the finer things in life and will be affectionately remembered for his sophisticated style and generous nature.
Pammy leaves to mourn, with loving memories, his wife of 47 years, Fanny (McLean); sons Dulah (Meghan) and Darah (Cassandra); grandchildren Jhoni, Kali, Maggie and Priya; sister Amarjit Brar; a wide circle of extended family and friends; and his in-laws in the McLean family who all welcomed and loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Avtar S Gill and Gulwant K (Sidhu) Gill; his brother Pritam S Gill; his sister Pritam K Sangha; as well as his mother and father in-law Percy and Sadie McLean.
Pammy’s family would like to thank all the friends and family who provided overwhelming support during this difficult time. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the team at Western Memorial Regional Hospital who made him comfortable during his final days.
Cremation and a private ceremony with immediate family have taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Association of New Canadians.
