Edwin Lloyd Rolfe
August 21, 1943 – March 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edwin Lloyd Rolfe announce his passing on March 14, 2026, at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Edwin leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 56 years, Maureen (née Brake). He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Tammy White (David) and his son David Rolfe (Melanie). He was a proud and caring grandfather to Bailee, Madison, Evan, and Matthew, who brought great joy to his life.
He also leaves behind his sisters Loretta Seaward and Sylvia Bonnell; sisters-in-law Gerri Meaney (Brian) Sheila Sheppard (Ray) and Shannon Brake (Sean King); and brothers-in-law Ben Brake (Noni), Greg Brake (Joy), Gary Brake (Sherry), Sean Brake, and Jim Brake, along with a large circle of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Edwin was predeceased by his parents Herman and Amy Rolfe; his sister Lillian Wilson; his mother and father-in-law John and Effie Brake; his brothers-in-law Jim Bonnell, Eddie Seaward, Gord Brinston, Frank Brake, and Joe Brake; and his sister-in-law Marg Brinston.
Edwin will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for his family, and the kindness he showed to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care shown to Edwin and his family during his final days.
Cremation has already taken place to stay with the wishes of Edwin. Family and friends may gather to celebrate Edwin’s life at Fillatre Funeral Home, Deer Lake on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from the hours of 1 – 4 pm with family prayers starting at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation in honour of Edwin Rolfe.
