Obituary of Carlos Alberto Nunes

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Carlos Alberto Nunes announce his passing on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his residence in Goose Bay, Labrador at the age of 93.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 64 years, Maria Louisa Nunes. Children, son Antonio Pedro Nunes and his daughter, Paula Nunes-Haggett and son-in-law, David Haggett. Granddaughters, Raquel Maria Haggett, Francisca June Hummel and her husband David Hummel. Great grandchildren, Lily Anne, Weston, Matthew, Adeline, and Noah. As well as many relatives and friends in Portugal and a large circle of friends from Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, The Knights of Columbus and the community at large.
Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, between the hours of 7 and 9 pm and Wednesday, March 18, 2026, between the hours of 2 and 4 pm.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, starting at 2 pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace church with Father Boniface officiating.
Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic cemetery.
The family invites friends to join them back at the church (Social Room) after the internment for light refreshments.

The family would like to offer thanks to the many friends of Carlos and Maria for the pouring of love and support during these difficult days. Special thanks to Father Boniface, Fidelia and Lucio Breyere, Debrah and Ed Sharpe, Mel and Dot Bessey, The Knights of Columbus as well as the many other friends who have shown their loving kindness and consideration over their years in Happy Valley Goose Bay.
Special mention to Isabel Maderia, Joana Silva and son Afonso, and the many loving relatives and friends from Villa Cova de Alva and Lisboa, Portugal for their love and dedication over the years.
