Card Of Thanks

The family of the late Debbie buckle would like to express our many thanks for the outpouring of love, shown to us during this very difficult time.

As we navigate feelings of our great loss, we are so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family surrounding us.

The beautiful floral arrangements, helped make us smile because she loved flowers so much.

The generous gifts of food helped keep us going during our darkest days at the hospital and after the funeral.

We enjoyed reading the many cards, letting us know that she was well loved by so many.

We are very thankful for donations made to the palliative care and cancer clinic that will help future patients

To the doctors, nurses and staff of the cancer clinic, 4th and 5th floors, you have special gifts . The care and compassion that you have shown our family has been immeasurable.

The palliative care team were truly amazing in what you do for others. The way you showed so much kindness and respect to all of us was a blessing.

We would like to express our thanks to Florence and Fillatres Funeral home for taking the time we needed to get through the difficult task of planning our goodbye to our very special Debbie ( mom) .

Thank you all.

The Buckle and Tucker family.

Corner Brook, NL

It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of Debbie Buckle (née Tucker) on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Debbie passed away at the age of 69 years.

Debbie leaves to mourn her beloved husband and best friend, Rod; her daughters Lindsay (Aaron) and Katie (Chris); LeAnn (Todd), sisters Rhonda (Don) and Janet (Ronnie); brothers and sisters-in-law Brian (Glenda), Dave (Mary), Joanne (Pat deceased), Donnie (Gerald deceased), Sadie (Vic) and Francis. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews; as well as Thomas and Ryan, Meemaw’s special boys. Debbie also leaves behind many wonderful and lifelong friends and family members.

She is predeceased by her parents, Tom and Bon Tucker; her sister Gail Tucker; and her parents-in-law Jean and Stan Buckle.

Debbie lived life to the fullest. Together with her love, Roddy, they grew up, worked hard, and raised their wonderful girls, who lovingly cared for her until the end. Over the years, Debbie developed many close friendships and was known for her caring and thoughtful nature. She delighted in laughter and fun, especially during evenings spent around the fire, sharing stories, at their cabin on Pinchgut Lake.

Honouring Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Majors Brian and Valerie Wheeler. All are welcome to attend a reception immediately after the service.

As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or the Cancer Unit, through the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Western Memorial Hospital and Palliative Care. Your compassion and kindness will always be remembered.
