It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a very special woman Cecilia Cadet. 

Cecilia was born to Margaret and Lucien LeCoure in Black Duck Brook. She moved to Port Au Choix as a teacher where she met the love of her life John. They built a home and a family that cherished her until her final moments. Cecilia was a kind woman with a heart of gold. She loved her family with everything she had. Cecilia spent the most recent years of her life in long term care at Rufus Guinchard Health Center where John spent every evening by her side.

Cecilia is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Lucien LeCoure; brothers Clarence and Clyde; grandson Jesse LeCoure; mother and father in law Edna and Clem Cadet.

Cecilia is survived by her loving husband of 56 years John; daughters Denise (Mike), Lizeta (Tyson), Stacey (Jamie); sons Clar (Theresa) and Grayson (Kim); grandchildren Dylan, Jody (Dawn), Darcie, Joel, Jesse, Kelsey, Nikki; great grandchildren Blake, Bo, Jae, Noa, Tysin, Shoshanna, Kruize and Amelia; and a very large circle of family and friends.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at the Rufus Guinchard Health Center for the phenomenal care of mom over the last 6 years.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Huntington Society of Canada at huntingtonsociety.ca 

As Per her Wishes cremation has taken place.

Visitation:  Thursday, March 19, 2026 @ 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm, Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix, NL,

Funeral Service:  Friday, March 20, 2026, @ 2 pm, St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Port au Choix, NL, with Father Jaison officiating.

Interment to be held at a later date.
