Eva Marina White

It is with deep sorrow, that we announce the passing of Eva Marina White (nee Payne), in her 87^th year. Eva passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in the presence of her cherished family at the Tablelands LTC unit at CBCHC.

She leaves to mourn her children: Virtue (Max) Andrews, Joan (Dennis) Riou, Craig (Amanda) and Sharon Stein; grandchildren: Edward, Gordon, Patricia and Brock; great-grandchildren: Rylan, Kesley, Nichole, Michael and Mason; brothers: Gordon and Lyle, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

She was predeceased by her husband Taylor, children Pansy and Nita, son-in-law Carl Stein; parents Edward and Miriam Payne; brothers Claude, Kevin and Basil; sisters Audrey and Alma. 

Mom was a person of faith and fellowship. As a life-long member of the ACW since 1959 and the Rainbow Seniors Club since 1988, she gladly spent hours volunteering, creating and making items for fundraisers and helping out as needed. She loved a good game of cards, she was very competitive, except when playing with her grandchildren. Mom enjoyed knitting and giving her goods to others. She was a 4-H leader and she taught many children how to knit. She also enjoyed her co-worker’s company from her jobs as a bookkeeper, painter, fish-plant worker and as a nanny. Her family will miss the fish fry’s, her soups that were all made to individual tastes and her date squares.

We would like to thank the staff, and all of the people who visited mom at Lane's Retirement Living, Western Memorial Hospital, and CBCHC Tablelands Unit. A very special and sincere thank you to aunt Pauline and the late uncle Basil, for all that you did for mom. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove on Friday, March 20, 2026 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at St. Nicholas Anglican Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026 beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Anglican Cemetery.
