Obituary of George Edmund Tooktoshina
It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Tooktoshina announce his passing on March 12th, 2026, at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, NL at the age of 63 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife: Maria Solomon; daughter: Destiny Solomon; brothers: Jim Tooktoshina, Steve (Delphine), John, Donald, Sam (Christine), and Jimmy Asivak (Renee); sister: Myrtle Banfield; as well as a large circle of extended relatives and friends.
George was predeceased by his parents: Steven and Elizabeth Tooktoshina (nee Lucy); and siblings: Edgar, Ralph, Melvin, Joice Allen, Susan Rideout, and Claris Barron.
Friends and family may visit the United Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Friday, March 20th, 2026, from 7:00-9:00 pm and Saturday, March 21st, 2026, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, from the United Church, starting at 2:00 pm with Sophie Gillette officiating.
As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
