Obituary of Gladys Mary Foote

Gladys Mary Foote (nee Cornect)
June 11, 1936 - March 19, 2026
 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mom Gladys at the age of 89 years in the presence of her cherished family at the Palliative Care unit in Corner Brook.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Gloria, Wilson Jr, Lindsay (Bridget), Barry (Dayna), Cindy (Clarence), Bev (Mark), James (Lisa), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly, her sister Mary (Greg) and family, brothers-in-law Ivan (Elaine) Foote and Floyd Porter, sisters-in-law Barb Cornick and Theresa Cornick and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Wilson (2023), mother Mary Ada, sister Eva, brothers Leo, Gordon, Peter and Clarence, along with her sisters and brothers-in-law.

Mom had an immense faith in the catholic church and was an avid church-goer until her health failed.

Mom was selfless and generous. She was our rock. Her greatest joy was having her Sunday family gatherings where memories were made. She loved her bingo and card games, especially with her special friends Anna, Sylvia and Sadie and her chats with Lilly and Joan. She appreciated her visits with Violet and Chris who always made her look and feel special.

Thank you to Dr. Smallwood, emergency department, staff on 5^th floor, the Palliative Care team, Fr. Patry and Dr. Barker for their care, support and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will take place at Holy Rosary Parish in Pasadena on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 10:30am with Father Patry officiating. Interment and celebration of life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Holy Rosary Parish.
